All-On-X Implants
All-On-X implants are designed for patients who are missing most or all of their teeth, or whose remaining teeth can no longer provide a healthy, dependable foundation. Instead of replacing each tooth individually, a carefully planned number of implants can support a fixed restoration across an entire arch.
At Center for Oral Surgery, Dr. Christopher Duplaga evaluates the condition of the teeth, jawbone, bite, and overall oral health to determine whether full-arch implant treatment may be appropriate. This approach can offer greater stability than traditional removable dentures while creating a foundation for restored function and confidence.
All-On-X treatment is highly individualized. The number and position of implants, need for extractions, available bone, and restorative plan are all considered before treatment begins.
Who May Benefit
All-On-X implants may be considered for patients facing extensive tooth loss or significant problems affecting most of the teeth in an upper or lower arch.
Treatment may be appropriate for patients who:
- Are missing most or all teeth in an arch
- Have multiple failing or non-restorable teeth
- Struggle with loose or uncomfortable dentures
- Want a fixed alternative to removable tooth replacement
- Need comprehensive reconstruction of an entire arch
- Have sufficient bone for strategic implant placement
- Are able to maintain appropriate long-term oral care
Some patients with bone loss may still have options through advanced implant techniques. Dr. Duplaga will review your anatomy and determine which approach offers the strongest foundation for treatment.
How Full-Arch Treatment Works
Planning begins with a detailed examination and imaging to evaluate the jawbone, remaining teeth, bite, and anatomical structures that may influence implant placement.
When treatment moves forward, any teeth that cannot be preserved may be removed and implants are strategically positioned to support the planned full-arch restoration. The goal is to create stability while making efficient use of the available bone.
Depending on the case, additional procedures or advanced implant techniques may be incorporated into the plan. Sedation options can also be discussed based on the extent of treatment and the patient’s individual needs.
From Surgery to a New Smile
Following implant placement, the surgical sites need time to heal and the implants must develop a stable connection with the surrounding bone.
A temporary restoration may be used in certain treatment plans while healing takes place. The type and timing of the restoration depend on implant stability, anatomy, bite forces, and the overall restorative strategy.
Once healing has progressed appropriately, the restorative phase can move toward the final full-arch prosthesis. Dr. Duplaga works with the restorative dental provider when coordinated care is needed to help ensure the surgical foundation supports the final result.
